Description:
The Eco Club of the school celebrated Van Mahotsav 2025–26 with great zeal and environmental commitment in the school auditorium. The event brought together students, teachers, and distinguished guests in a vibrant celebration dedicated to promoting the importance of afforestation and environmental conservation.
The programme commenced with a serene prayer service, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by theChief Guest, Dr. Sunil Kumar, IFS,School Principal, Rev. Sr. Venita Joseph, School Manager, Sr. Anupa,Rev SrAlvina and SrUsha. Chief Guest, Dr. Sunil Kumar, IFSa renowned environmentalist. Dr. Kumar was accorded a green welcome with a saplingand was warmly introduced to the audience. His remarkable achievements in the field of environmental science and community awareness were also highlighted.
The day’s events included sapling plantation by Chief Guest, sisters, club members and teachers, symbolising a collective commitment to a greener future. A soulful song and a thought-provoking skit presented by students emphasized the urgent need to protect nature and plant more trees.
The audience was further captivated by a ramp walk based on the theme Save Mother Earth,poetry recitations on planting trees and an energetic Gidha performance that added a cultural vibrance to the occasion. Winners of theInter-House Environment Quiz Competition conducted during the Van Mahotsav celebrations were felicitated during a prize distribution ceremony. At the end of the programme the chief guest shared a few words of wisdom with the audience.
The event concluded with a heartfeltvote of thanks, followed by the students proudly singing the Green Anthem, echoing the school’s message of sustainable living and eco-consciousness.
The Van Mahotsav celebration at Sacred Heart Sr. Sec. School was not only a platform to spread awareness but also a true reflection of the school’s dedication to nurturing responsible and environmentally aware citizens. The event was a resounding success, leaving a lasting green impression on everyone present.
