Independence Day celebrated with patriotic fervour and cultural splendor Chandigarh, August 16: Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, Sector 26 celebrated India's 79th Independence Day with great enthusiasm, patriotic pride and a live display of India's cultural heritage. Nation The school premises were decked up in tricolour with the students and staff gathered to mark the occasion. The celebrations began with a soulful prayer dance invoking peace and unity. School Principal Sister Venita Joseph welcomed the gathering and stressed the importance of remembering our freedom fighters and staying true to the values of the Constitution. The motivational speech highlighted the sacrifices made by countless Indians and the role of youth in shaping the future of the country. This was followed by an entertaining theatrical performance titled Bahaduri Ki Gumnaam Kahani depicting the lives of lesser-known heroes of the freedom struggle, which deeply impacted the audience. Chief Guest Col Ashish Tiwari in his motivational address inspired the students He urged the students to always respect the sacrifices of the heroes and contribute towards the progress of the nation with dedication and devotion. The grand finale included a lively and energetic Bhangra performance which filled the atmosphere with joy and celebration. The school coordinator gave a hearty vote of thanks appreciating the efforts of the students, teachers and parents for making the event a success.
