Description: Day 4 of the Regional Language Learning Week was packed with creativity, culture, and culinary fun! In the Malayalam class, students were introduced to the rich classical dance traditions of Kerala. They learned basic steps of Mohiniyattam, watched a Kathakali performance, and explored its vibrant expressions through a curated YouTube video. The class also covered the English alphabet in Malayalam, helping students connect familiar letters with regional scripts. A delightful addition to the day was the preparation of a traditional sweet dish – Aval (poha). Children wrote down the recipe, listed the ingredients, and happily savoured the dish they helped make.
Meanwhile, the Sanskrit class reinforced previous lessons through a recap of the patriotic song, time-telling, colours, and fruit names. An interactive visual activity helped students revise fruit and colour vocabulary. The class expanded further into the names of vegetables and everyday objects, boosting their practical language use. A highlight of the day was the Mystery Box game, where students used their sense of touch to identify items while recalling their Sanskrit names – a fun and educational experience that everyone enjoyed.
Altogether, it was a vibrant and immersive day that blended movement, language, and culture in memorable ways!
