Description:
Day 3 of the CBSE Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav Summer Camp was a vibrant blend of creativity, language learning, and cultural appreciation as students delved into the beauty of Sanskrit and Malayalam.
The session began with an enthusiastic revision of the patriotic song introduced earlier, allowing students to recall its rhythm and meaning with greater clarity and confidence.
This was followed by a quick recap of Day 2's concepts before introducing the names of colours and fruits in both languages. To make the learning engaging, the words were introduced through riddles and clues, sparking curiosity and excitement among students. The colours of the rainbow were taught in an interactive way—students drew rainbows and coloured them while learning their names in Sanskrit and Malayalam, associating each colour with visual cues.
To add movement and joy to the session, a fun and energetic “Sit and Stand” game was played using Sanskrit action commands like:
???????? (Utti??ha) – Stand up
????? (Upavisa) – Sit down
This activity enabled students to internalize vocabulary through physical response, deepening their understanding and adding a joyful rhythm to the classroom environment.
The session also included a revision of counting from 1 to 50 in both Sanskrit and Malayalam, helping students become more confident with numbers across both languages.
The day concluded with a short travel documentary on popular tourist destinations in Kerala, such as Munnar, Alleppey, and Fort Kochi. This visual segment not only built cultural awareness but also offered a refreshing insight into the natural beauty and heritage of the region, connecting language learning to real-world contexts.
Day 3 was marked by high energy, active participation, and a growing sense of enthusiasm for the rich linguistic and cultural tapestry of India.
